South Mountain State Park
Exposure : 1/2 sec Aperture : F 22 Focal Length : 44 mm ISO : 200
Today was filled with excitement as I went to South Mountain State park in Burke County, NC for the first time. Many of my friends have told me before how vigorous the hike up the mountain would be, it was filled with large rocks and many stairs to prevent erosion. The road that we took to get there was very narrow and had a tendency to wind the entire way. Once we arrived, we started to make our way up the 1/2 mile trail to High
Shoals Falls. It was a very well maintained trail that included many newly rebuilt bridges and river overlooks. I always enjoy outdoor trips like these, so that I can just get away from it all and see God's beautiful creations. Sometime in the future I plan to go back and spend one entire day so that I can hike the entire mountain and spend much more time shooting the beautiful landscape.Tuesday, July 3, 2007
July 4th
The forth of July is just around the corner. Our great country is celebrating yet another what seems like underrated birthday. Many people here in America take for granted all of the pleasures and privileges that we carelessly overlook everyday. I also recently learned that many if not all of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were heavily prosecuted for their bold actions toward our nations freedom from Great Britain.
So during this years Independence day just remember one thing, we should be very thankful for all the rights that we have as citizens in our wonderful country.
